Brian Mashburn at Talon Gallery.
Currently on view at Talon Gallery in Portland, Oregon is an exhibition of brand new work by artist Brian Mashburn.
Via Talon Gallery: “Mashburn’s works feature beautifully rendered subjects from the animal kingdom set in the foreground, against ethereal, layered, landscapes. In his paintings the natural world and human habitats are shown at close quarters as spires and ferris wheels jut out from mountain ranges and tree lines. Animals and birds are brought into the foreground and presented as the focal points of the pieces, with the blurring of boundaries between humanity and the natural world as a compelling backdrop.
The exhibition will be on view until November 19th and should definitely be sought out if in the Portland area.

Emilio Villalba’s “Symbols of Death, Signs of Life” at Modern Eden.
Opening on November 10th, 2018 at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, California is artist Emilio Villalba’s solo exhibition, “Symbols of Death, Signs of Life.”
In this new body of work, the artist explores interior spaces, personal artifacts, and symbols of his life. Further abstraction of the figure results into a collection of composite forms, flashes of memory, that when combined, read like intricate narratives, telling the story of their maker—telling the life of the artist.
The exhibition will be on view until December 1st, 2018.
